Money & Morals is a useful resource for English teaching from Year 9 onwards. All case studies present a dilemma in which ethical aspects must be considered and can be used for:

• Reading and response, reasoning skills and improved vocabulary
• Class discussion and formal debate
• Role-play, by enacting a scene or where an individual is "hot-seated", with follow-up questions/discussion
• Individual writing tasks, eg. a two-way dialogue with opposing views, or a discussion essay expressing the writer's opinion.

In addition, for Key Stage 4, the materials can be used as a spring-board for exam practice, eg writing information and ideas. The case studies are particularly relevant for speaking and listening tasks (AT1) in any one of the three required contexts:

• Individual extended contribution: the candidate can describe a case study and explain the ethical considerations (Explain, Describe, Narrate)
• Group activity: based on a case study (Discuss, Argue, Persuade)
• Drama focussed activity: any of the 100 Money & Morals case studies provide the starting point for a scene (Explore, Analyse, Imagine).

Each of these examples satisfies the requirement in the new specifications for an activity in a real-life context, beyond the classroom.
